Prof. Dr. Umut Koldaş – Özgeçmiş

Dr. Umut Koldas is the Head of Mission and Representative of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in Manama, the Kingdom of Bahrain. He is the founding director of the Near East Institute and non-resident fellow at the Department of International Relations at the Near East University. He received his two master degrees on International Relations from the Middle East Technical University and on Media and Communications from the London School of Economics respectively. He earned his Ph.D. in International Relations at the Middle East Technical University. His research interests and publications include: new multi-dimensional and inter-disciplinary studies of security, issues of democratization, state-minority relations and citizenship in the Middle East and the Mediterranean region (with particular emphasis on Turkey, Cyprus and Israel) and representation of minorities in the media.
